TRAVEL DIARY - Coral Bay

After driving through the desert for hours and hours, hundreds of kilometres, I arrived in Coral Bay with its sandy beaches, blue skies and clear water. One word: PARADISE!

TRAVEL DIARY - the rocks

As I mentioned before, I have given up on posting my Australia trip chronologically, so these photos are from a few weeks ago when I went up to Coral Bay and spent the days snorkelling, eating ice creams and sunbathing. Maike, a German-Namibian girl with whom I spent most of my days with, shot these photos of me while going for a walk on the beach one evening. Coincidentally, I found this photo below on Pinterest a few days ago and it reminded me so much of these photos above! The main differences: supermodel Veruschka vs. me and Vogue vs. my blog, but other than that the photos are quite alike aren't they? :) Anyways, I thought it would be fun to show you this similarity. Love Aimee

PHOTOGRAPHY - red earth

Whenever I think of Australia, red earth and deserted pieces of land come to mind. Probably the fact that Australia is 200 times bigger than Holland while it has the same amount of inhabitants has to do with it. Most Australian people live in the big cities or on the coast and it is quite incredible that this country has uninhabited area's the size of France. I took these photos on a paddock one dreary afternoon and they basically portray my image of Australia, so I wanted you to see them. Love Aimee

TRAVEL DIARY - Australia Day 5 & 6

In these photos you can see me kissing a dolphin, cute turtle Squirt who has sadly now left the Dolphin Discovery Centre in order to swim among fellow turtles in the Indian Ocean, me in my new favorite lavender-blue tunic from Monki (I got it on sale in Holland) and my activities on the first day in Augusta, a beautiful little town south from Bunbury. We went there for the weekend and although it rained cats and dogs most of the time, we decided not to laze around but to do some sightseeing instead. My feet got soaked while going for a walk with dog Max, so in case you were wondering; no, I am not wearing these shoes to make a fashion statement, it was merely a practical solution. In the afternoon we visited the Voyager Estate which is a famous winery. There is something about vineyards, I love their pattern of straight parallel lines and the delicate branches. I am definitely a wine lover. To finish day 6 spectacularly we drove on a near paddock at night to spot wild kangaroos. There were dozens of them, but because of their unexpected speed I only managed to capture this blurred photo above - these creatures are just incredible, that's all I can say! Just to keep you updated, I wanted to let you guys know that I booked my flight to Melbourne and I will spend a couple of days there next week. Can't wait! Have a great weekend! Love Aimee
