sweet summer

I have one thing to say; SUMMER HOLIDAY STARTS NOW! I had my last exams of the year on Wednesday and Thursday - thank you for all your good luck wishes! - and I am ready to pile away my study books and to get out my bikini and other summer-related accessories and get into my relax mode. I am however determined to spend my weeks usefully and therefore I have made a summer 2014 Bucket List with all sorts of activities. Examples are learning how to skate, learning to play guitar, visiting the Efteling (I have never been there, shame on me!) - visiting the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, redecorating the outside terrace of my student home, making several Youtube video's and the list goes on and on... What are your summer plans?

throwback

I just found these photos on my memory card; I am longing for summer so bad! Dresses, everlasting days, picknicks in parks, strawberries, ice cream - these are some of the things that come to my mind when thinking of summer. Hmmmm, day dream much? My day dreams somehow often involve Paris; well, in life it is important to make your dreams come true right? Therefore, my friend Judith and I spontaneously booked a city trip to Paris! We are leaving tomorrow morning and we will spend Tuesday and Wednesday in the beautiful city of light and love; talk about a last minute decision! Of course we plan to take a lot of Parisian snap shots and I hope the weather allows us to shoot some outfits as well! Bisous, Aimee

DIARY - a very merry christmas!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Dear all, I wish you all a very Merry Christmas! Here's a little sneak peak of my christmas dress, which you will have a better look at in my next post! I ordered it from Forever21, gosh, I love that store! I get serious craving issues everytime I visit the online shop... The crazy hat adds a little festivity to the outfit, and needless to say, it kept my ears nice and warm while shooting these photos ;) Tomorrow my family and I are hitting the French highway; it is time to ski again! and to talk some french, oui oui! Bonne nuit, tout le monde! xoxo

DIARY - leaf love

Dear fellow bloggers, I am currently writing this post from my new room in Utrecht! It is kind of surreal, looking around me and realising that I have officially moved out and that I am now an independent girl - or should I say young lady - with my own little home. I do have moments when I feel quite mature, like when I am taking care of my finances or even when I do something extremely simple like grocery shopping. However, at times I do still feel like a little young girl missing her family and friends... I guess it is all one big adventure with highs and lows, which I will probably consider as the best time of my life when I am all old and wrinkly. I went to Belgium for the weekend two weeks ago, and although I am sure you have already been photobombed with autumny pictures, I wanted to share these photos with you. A Belgium photo diary will be up on the blog soon! Love Aimee

DIARY - sunday walk

I sometimes complain about Holland being boring and well... flat. However, last Sunday I had the sudden revelation that the Dutch nature is actually pretty amazing and that beautiful forests and purple fields (which you also saw in my last post) are only a half-an-hour drive away from home. I just wanted to share these photos with you of our Sunday walk. It is nice to go out for a walk every now and then, away from the 'modern world' with social media etc. I like the colours in these photos, especially the last photo with the light peeking through :) I went to Rotterdam with my mum and my brother today and gladly they didn't mind were so sweet to take some outfit photos again, so an outfit post will probably be up online tomorrow! Love Aimee

DIARY - disposable photos part 3

This is my third disposable photos post. You can see the other two here and here. I really enjoy taking photos with disposable camera's. In my opinion they capture the best memorable moments! I love the excited feeling of not knowing how the photos will turn out and I am like a little kid in a candy store every time I pick up the developed photos at our local shop! Here's a little photo description:

1 - 'Pirates' Marly and Amber
2 - Sera and me dressed up as Indians for carnaval
3 - My sweet cousin/friend Margot and me
4 - Me riding a rented bicycle in Paris
5 - Eva and Roos on the couch in my living room
6 - Crazy indians!
7 - Marly and Amber jumping

I have lots more disposable photos to show you soon, so stay tuned! Love Aimee

DIARY - June 26th

As I told you in my previous post, I visited the recently reopened museum The Fundatie with my friends An and Eva yesterday. I don't know if I have ever mentioned it before, but I am a big fan of museums! I love that you can take your time and that everyone can stay as long as they like. Museums have such a calm and relaxing atmosphere. Furthermore, I have always been interested in art, especially because of my mum - she studied art history -  and because I have always enjoyed drawing and painting. I liked the art collection, but the main reason I wanted to visit the museum was to see the new photography exhibition by the well-known photographer Pieter Henket, called The Way I See It. I had read an article about him and his work in the Dutch Vogue and after seeing his work at the museum, I can definitely say that he has shot some amazing photos! After we had visited the museum, we strolled along the streets of Zwolle, the town where I live, and we discovered a new cool place, which sells frozen yoghurt! (last two photos) LOVE IT :) I will definitely be going back there! xxx Aimee

DIARY - geslaagd!!!

Today has been a very important day for me, because after 6 (!!!) years of gymnasium I have passed my exams! Wooeeehoeeeee! It was such a big relief hearing from mentor that my six years of hard work have paid off! I am especially proud of myself because I have passed my exams with a 7,8 average. I just couldn't be happier at this moment, honestly. A whole new life lies ahead of me; living on my own, travelling and doing a study which is absolutely 'me' if you know what I mean. From this moment on I can really concentrate on this exciting future. My dear friends, who have gladly all passed their exams as well, will be here in half an hour to celebrate our graduation and of course we are going to dance the night away after having a couple of drinks :) To the ones who have passed their exams as well: Congratulations! Lots of love, Aimee
